Simple but striking

It was such a privilege to work alongside the Designwell team to fit out the new Duck Island store in Takapuna, Auckland. In keeping with their iconic pink ice-cream parlour theme, we completed the front counter, back-of-house kitchenette, shelving, and blackboard menu signage with curved oak framing.

The simple but striking features give the space a fun feel, with gold round handles, and clever curves in subtle places. The cabinetry had to work in with the technical requirements of the central freezer needing ventilation, along with accommodating a solid tile substrate bending around the corner as a main feature.

We're stoked that Duck Island continues to grow around the country, and that we get to be a small part of their lip-smacking success.
